Basic PDU for 30 A rack circuits

The APC AP7580 is a basic 2U horizontal power distribution unit designed for 120 V or 208 V three-wire supplies. It accepts a NEMA L14-30P plug and provides four NEMA L5-20R outlets at 120 V for rack-mounted equipment. The unit includes rack-mounting brackets and an installation guide. It is suited for data-centre racks that need simple, unmonitored power distribution from a 30 A branch circuit.

Derated continuous capacity and thermal limits

The regulatory derated input current is 24 A, so sustained loads should remain at or below this level rather than the 30 A plug rating. The PDU delivers up to 4992 VA across the four outlets when fed from a 208 V source. Operating temperature range is 32 to 113 °F (0 to 45 °C) with humidity up to 95 % non-condensing. Storage tolerances extend from -25 to 65 °C at the same humidity ceiling.

Four L5-20R outlets constrain device count

Only four locking receptacles are available, limiting the number of directly connected devices to four unless external splitter strips are added. The 28 ft (approximately 27 ft per supplier highlights) input cord reaches distant panels but fixes the PDU position relative to the source. No metering, switching or network management features are present; the unit provides basic power distribution only.
