Alphacool
A 7 W/mK thermal pad sized 100 by 100 by 0.5 mm for levelling height gaps on RAM, GPU or CPU coolers
The Alphacool Eisschicht Light thermal pad measures 100x100x0.5mm and provides a thermal conductivity of 7W/mK. It is intended for DIY builders who need to transfer heat between chips and cooler surfaces on graphics cards, motherboards or memory modules. The pink sheet is self-adhesive, elastic and can be trimmed with scissors to fit irregular component layouts.
At 7W/mK the pad bridges typical air gaps but does not match the performance of higher-conductivity pastes or pads rated above 10W/mK. It is designed for moderate heat loads where a compliant, reusable interface is preferred over a messy compound. The material remains stable across normal operating temperatures and will not pump out or dry over time.
Peel the protective film, position the pad on the target chip and press the heatsink down; the tacky surface holds alignment during assembly. Cutting to size is straightforward with household scissors. Common issues include trapping air bubbles if the pad is not seated evenly and selecting a thickness that leaves excessive clearance on tall components.

| Features | Alphacool's ultimate solution lets you cool your computer with a sheet of ice. Not an ice sheet in the conventional sense, made of frozen water, but a sheet that brings every chip down to freezing. The properties of these new thermal pads speak for themselves. |
Choose the thickness that matches the gap between your chip and cooler; 0.5mm suits tight tolerances, 1mm covers average gaps and 1.5mm fills larger height differences. All three can be trimmed with scissors.
It indicates the pad conducts heat at seven watts per metre-kelvin, so a thinner layer moves heat faster; the 0.5mm sheet gives the lowest thermal resistance for this conductivity.
A 100x100mm sheet is large enough for most VRM or memory blocks; you can cut it to exact shapes with scissors and the 120x20mm variant is also offered for narrow RAM coolers.
