Practical limits of USB 3.2 and Gigabit Ethernet

The adapter uses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 link, so the 1000 Mbps Ethernet port cannot exceed the 5 Gbps host bandwidth. Real-world throughput also depends on the host controller, cable quality and network congestion. To reach the rated 1000 Mbps you must use Category 6 or better Ethernet cabling; older cables will restrict speed. The PD port accepts up to 100 W but actual charge rate is negotiated with the host and power source.

100 W Power Delivery rating

The single specification that decides suitability is the 100 W PD pass-through capability. If your device requires more than 100 W for operation or fast charging this adapter cannot supply it. Conversely, devices that charge at 100 W or less can remain powered while the wired network is active. Buyers who need higher power delivery or multiple Ethernet ports should look elsewhere.
