Five-pack SATA 6 Gbps data cables

This five-pack supplies straight SATA 7-pin cables for connecting SSDs, HDDs or optical drives to motherboards and host controllers. Each 1.6 ft cable uses 30 AWG tin conductors rated for 12 Gbps signalling and carries a blue jacket for quick identification. Locking latches on every connector prevent accidental disconnection during drive swaps. The cables are labelled P1 to P5 to simplify routing in multi-drive or RAID setups.

Upgrade from older SATA I or II cables

Replacing legacy cables with these 6 Gbps links removes a bottleneck when the drive and controller both support SATA III speeds. The jump is worth it whenever the attached equipment is rated for 6 Gbps, because the cable will no longer limit the transfer rate. If the drive or controller only operates at 1.5 or 3 Gbps, the cable simply runs at that lower speed without any configuration required.

Limited to internal data-only connections

These cables carry data only and do not deliver power, so each drive still needs a separate power connection from the PSU. They fit standard 7-pin SATA ports on 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch drives, optical units and RAID controllers, but they cannot be used for external eSATA ports or devices that require a combined power-and-data connector. Maximum reliable length is the supplied 1.6 ft; longer runs would need active signal conditioning not provided here.
