Six stretch silicone lids for everyday food storage

Practical limits of the stretch seal

The lids rely on elastic tension to grip container rims, so they work best on smooth, round edges where the silicone can form a continuous seal. Very irregular shapes, heavily flared rims or containers larger than 7.68 inches will not hold the lid securely. High heat above microwave temperatures or direct flame can damage the silicone. Sharp knives or abrasive scrubbers may tear the material and compromise the airtight fit.
