It is designed for technicians and installers working with Ethernet, telephone, speaker, coax, video and data cables. The toner transmits signals over 1000 feet using five distinct tone cadences. Rugged angled bed-of-nails clips provide secure wire attachment during tracing operations.

Interface And Distance Limits

The tone generator connects directly to RJ11 telephone jacks and RJ45 data ports for convenient pair toning. Continuity and polarity testing is performed with clearly labeled LEDs for easy interpretation. The probe features a 3.5 mm headphone jack for clear audio feedback in noisy environments, though headphones are not included. A durable non-metallic conductive tip ensures precise tracing and is replaceable using part VDV999-068, sold separately.
