Practical Limits of the US Standard Scale

Users must insert material into the slot, not the centre hole, for an accurate reading. Moisture exposure can degrade the stainless finish over time.

It runs out when measuring heavy cable, multi-strand bundles or plated surfaces that exceed the slot depth.
