WindTech 300 Series Windscreen

The WindTech 300 Series Windscreen is a foam cover designed for microphones with a 1.375 inch or 35mm inside diameter. It uses a unique non-heat manufacturing process and SonicFoam acoustical foam. The windscreen targets vocalists, broadcasters and field recordists who need to reduce wind noise and plosives during outdoor or live sessions. Its Neon Green colour also adds quick visual identification on stage or in the studio.

35mm fit and noise reduction capacity

The 35mm inside diameter slips onto compatible microphones for a snug fit that stays in place during movement. SonicFoam open-cell foam lets sound energy pass freely while reducing wind velocity, breath sounds and pop noises. The windscreen handles typical vocal and outdoor wind conditions but will not block extreme gusts or very high sound-pressure plosives completely. It also shields the microphone capsule from dust and moisture exposure.

Foam windscreen practical limits

Foam windscreens rely on porous material to diffuse air turbulence, so they cannot eliminate all low-frequency rumble or heavy wind buffeting. The 1.375 inch diameter restricts use to microphones matching that specific size; larger or smaller capsules will not fit securely. The accessory adds no electronic processing or gain control, so signal level and tonal balance remain entirely dependent on the microphone and preamp chain.
