This heavy-duty booster cable uses 1 AWG conductors rated for 800 A to jump-start vehicles with discharged batteries. The 16 ft length gives ample reach between battery terminals on most cars, vans and light trucks. Spring-loaded parrot-jaw clamps grip top-post and side-post terminals securely. It is intended for roadside or workshop use by motorists and technicians who need reliable cranking power.

1 AWG current limit and clamp grip

The 1 AWG copper cross-section sets a hard ceiling of 800 A; attempting to crank larger diesel engines or multiple vehicles in quick succession can exceed that rating and overheat the cable. Spring clamps rely on jaw pressure rather than bolt-on lugs, so heavy vibration or corroded terminals may reduce contact area and effective current flow. The crimped connections are not user-serviceable if a strand fails.

16 ft reach and heavy-duty jacket

Sixteen feet of cable comfortably spans engine bays on full-size pickups and allows connection from a donor vehicle parked behind or beside the disabled one. The black and orange jacket resists oil, abrasion and cold-weather stiffening within normal automotive temperature ranges. It does not suit industrial equipment requiring longer runs or higher continuous current than 800 A.
