What the Kit Repairs

This second check valve repair kit is designed for Watts Series 007 M2 assemblies sized from 1-1/2 to 2 inches. It restores backflow prevention on bath faucet installations that use the 007 M2 platform. The package includes a check cage, cover O-ring, disc assembly, seat, seat O-ring and spring. Maintenance teams and licensed plumbers use it to return a valve to compliant operation without replacing the whole body.

Installation Context

The kit fits inside the existing 007 M2 valve body, so the surrounding piping and mounting hardware stay in place. Removing the old internals frees up the flow path for the new disc assembly, seat and spring to seal correctly. No special tools beyond standard valve service equipment are required, and the repair can be completed while the valve remains in line. The included O-rings ensure a fresh seal between the cover and the body.

When Replacement Beats Repair

If the valve body itself shows corrosion, cracking or thread damage, this kit will not resolve the leak and a full valve replacement is necessary. The kit also does not address failures in the first check valve, relief valve or shut-off components that sit outside the second check assembly.
