This card adds four USB 3.2 10 Gbps Type-A ports to a desktop system. Dual ASMedia ASM3142 controllers give each port its own 10 Gbps bandwidth lane through the PCIe 3.0 x4 host interface. It suits users who need multiple high-speed peripherals such as external SSDs or capture devices without sharing throughput.

Replaces a single-controller USB 3.1 card

A single-controller card splits one 10 Gbps lane across several ports, so simultaneous transfers slow each other down. This card uses two ASM3142 controllers so every port keeps full 10 Gbps bandwidth at the same time. The jump is worth it when you regularly move large files to several drives at once or run multiple bandwidth-hungry devices together.

Fits any PCIe 3.0 x4 or larger slot

No driver is needed for macOS 10.9 to 10.10 and 10.12 onward, Windows 10 or 8, Windows Server 2012 and later, or Linux kernel 2.6.31 and later. Windows 7, Vista and Server 2008 or 2003 require a downloadable driver. Each port supplies up to 900 mA at 5 V with independent over-current and thermal protection, so misbehaving devices cannot trip neighbouring ports.
