USB 3.0 Type A male-to-male extension

This cable extends a USB 3.0 Type A connection by 1.8 metres or 5.9 feet. It links two devices that both present a USB 3.0 Type A male port, such as a computer and a peripheral. Gold-plated connectors resist corrosion and maintain signal clarity. A single magnetic ring suppresses high-frequency noise for more reliable long-distance transmission. The cable is plug-and-play with no driver required.

Suitable for standard USB 3.0 peripherals

The cable works with flash drives, card readers, external hard drives, keyboards, mice, printers, scanners, cameras, laptop coolers, writing tablets, DVD players, USB 3.0 hubs, modems and headsets such as HTC Vive. It is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports. It is not suited for connections that require a different USB connector type such as Type B, Micro-B or Type C. It cannot be used where a female port is needed on either end.

5 Gbps transfer rate

The cable supports a maximum data rate of 5 gigabits per second, which is ten times faster than USB 2.0. This speed determines whether the cable can handle the bandwidth demands of the attached device. If the peripheral requires a higher signalling rate, this cable will not meet that requirement.
