7-Port USB 3.0 PCIe Expansion Card

This PCI Express add-in card adds seven USB 3.0 Type-A ports to a desktop system through a single x1 lane. The shared x1 lane means total throughput tops out at 5 Gbps, so simultaneous heavy transfers on multiple drives will contend for bandwidth. It comfortably handles several low-bandwidth devices such as webcams, audio interfaces or input devices at once. Builders needing guaranteed full-speed operation on every port simultaneously should consider a multi-lane controller instead.
