This Vszerda card adds a single 2.5 gigabit Ethernet port to systems with an M.2 B or M key 2242 slot. It uses the Intel I225 controller and connects through a standard RJ45 jack. The board targets builders who need wired throughput above one gigabit without occupying a full PCIe slot. It runs on Windows 10 or Ubuntu 19.04 and later.

M.2 B/M Key 2242 Fit

The decisive specification is the M.2 B+M key 2242 form factor, which only fits slots wired for that exact keying and length. A shorter 2230 or longer 2280 module will not seat correctly, and a slot limited to PCIe x2 or x4 wiring without B/M keying will not accept the card. Verify the motherboard manual lists M.2 2242 B/M support before purchase.

Throughput and Cable Reach

The controller negotiates at 10, 100, 1000 or 2500 megabits per second and supports jumbo frames up to 9.5 kilobytes for larger payloads. It handles CAT5e, CAT6 or CAT6A cables up to 100 metres without signal degradation. Four transmit and receive queues plus RSS scaling keep latency low under load, while checksum and segmentation offloads reduce host CPU overhead.
