7mm Push Rod Limits Reach and Pipe Diameter

The 7mm diameter fibre-glass rod reaches 20 metres or 65 feet, so inspections stop at that distance unless another reel is joined. Stiffness increases in tight bends, making progress difficult in pipes smaller than the rod's own diameter or in lines with multiple sharp elbows. Signal strength from the 512Hz transmitter drops with depth and soil type, so very deep or heavily reinforced lines may need a surface locator with higher sensitivity. Recording time is bounded by the 16GB card capacity at 1080P bit-rates.

Plug-and-Play Setup With Common Snags

The monitor, reel and camera head connect with keyed aviation plugs; power on and recording begins without driver installation. The most frequent issues are debris fouling the camera lens, the push rod kinking when forced past a blockage, and the TF card filling mid-job if old files are not cleared. The 512Hz locator must be paired to the same frequency before each session, otherwise the signal will not be detected. Regular cleaning of the connector pins prevents intermittent video loss.
