Compact high-volume document scanner

The Visioneer XD50-U is a flatbed scanner with an integrated 120-sheet automatic document feeder designed for offices that process large paper batches daily. It captures colour, monochrome and greyscale images at up to 600 dpi optical resolution with 24-bit colour and 8-bit greyscale depth. Duplex scanning records both sides of a page in a single pass at speeds up to 70 ppm for both colour and monochrome at 200 or 300 dpi. The unit suits banking, education, healthcare, government and similar sectors needing reliable high-throughput digitisation.

USB standalone integration

The scanner connects through a single USB interface and requires no separate power supply beyond the bus, freeing desk space and eliminating an extra cable. Its compact footprint fits on a standard work surface without demanding a dedicated scanner table. A daily duty cycle of 11,000 sheets and dual-motor reversing roller technology support continuous feeding of mixed document sizes and plastic cards through the wide paper path. No internal storage or network port is present, so a host computer must remain attached during operation.

Bundled image enhancement software

Included software provides automatic image enhancement such as deskew, crop, blank-page removal and colour correction during the scan job itself. This reduces manual post-processing time for archival or workflow systems that ingest the resulting files. The package also supports direct scanning of rigid plastic cards and photographs without additional carriers. No OCR engine, cloud connector or mobile app is supplied, so organisations needing searchable PDFs or cloud routing must add third-party tools.
