The Viking E-1600-55A is a phone line powered emergency telephone designed to meet ADA requirements for elevator installations. It provides handsfree operation and a nonvolatile digital voice announcer with sixteen seconds of voice memory for location identification. The kit includes a marine grade 316 stainless steel chassis that prevents corrosion in harsh environments.

Sustained load behaviour

Extended temperature range from fifteen to one hundred thirty degrees Fahrenheit allows continuous operation in unconditioned elevator shafts and machine rooms. Nonvolatile memory retains all programming without batteries through power interruptions. Advanced call progress detection automatically hangs up on CPC, silence, busy signal, dial tone, timeout or touch tone command to keep lines clear for the next emergency call.

Single deciding specification

The unit dials up to five emergency numbers and cycles through backup numbers on busy or no answer, a capability that determines whether the phone satisfies local code requirements for redundant emergency contact. Central station monitoring can dial two numbers simultaneously while optional polling and strobe light accessories expand notification options. Buyers who need more than five emergency numbers or a different mounting format should consider other models.
