Viking RG-10A Ring Booster

The Viking RG-10A ring generator increases ringing power on an existing telephone line, analog PABX extension or analog ISDN Terminal Adapter port. It duplicates the incoming ring frequency and cadence for compatibility with custom ringing features. The unit supports up to twelve standard 1 REN telephone devices without affecting normal line operation or features such as Caller ID and Call Waiting.

Practical limits of the ringing interface

The booster delivers a maximum of 10 REN loading so it cannot drive installations that require a higher ringing equivalence number. It only works with analog sources that already supply a ring signal and will not create ringing on a completely passive pair. Custom cadence is replicated, but the device does not add new ringing patterns or voltages beyond what the source provides.

Build quality and connector implications

The accessory is supplied new in its original packaging and is designed for inline installation on standard telecom wiring. Its compact form factor allows placement near the demarcation point or inside a wiring cabinet without specialised mounting hardware.
