3-in-1 Tri-Zone Rain Jacket

The Viking 6400JG-L is a Class 3 high-visibility garment built for workers who face wet, cold and windy conditions. A 300 Denier polyester/PVC shell with a 260g polyester fleece liner delivers waterproof protection and thermal insulation in a single layer. The detachable hood and hook-and-loop cuffs seal out driving rain while the 33 in length adds coverage for bending and reaching tasks. Yellow/green colouring and ANSI 107-2010 Type R certification keep the wearer conspicuous on roadways and job sites.

Capacity and headroom

The combined shell and fleece liner handle steady rain, low temperatures and persistent wind without the bulk of separate garments. Two inside pockets secure small tools or personal items while the hook-and-loop and zipper front closure allows quick ventilation when activity levels rise. The system reaches its limit in extreme sub-zero exposure where a dedicated heavyweight parka would be required, or during high-heat exertion where the non-breathable PVC membrane traps moisture vapour.

ANSI Class 3 interface limits

ANSI 107-2010 Class 3 mandates minimum areas of fluorescent background and retroreflective material for complex backgrounds and high-speed traffic zones. The standard does not address breathability, waterproofness or thermal resistance, so the jacket’s PVC coating and fleece weight are design choices outside the certification. Hook-and-loop cuffs and front closure satisfy the standard’s closure requirements but can accumulate debris that degrades reflectivity over time, requiring regular inspection to maintain compliance.
