This projector lamp module arrives as a fully assembled bulb and housing, so it fits straight into the ViewSonic PRO8100 without extra assembly. The 160W Ushio UHP bulb is pre-aligned in its cage, reducing the chance of mis-seating during replacement. Power the projector down and let it cool completely before starting; a hot lamp can shatter if handled. If the lamp cover interlock switch is not fully engaged after fitting, the projector will refuse to start.

Simple swap, watch the interlock

Installation only requires opening the lamp door, releasing the retaining screws, sliding the old module out and pushing the new one in until it clicks. The most common issue is forgetting to tighten the screws enough to activate the safety interlock, which leaves the projector in standby. Dust on the new bulb face can cause hot-spots, so avoid touching the glass and clean with a lint-free cloth if needed. Reset the lamp timer in the menu after installation to track hours correctly.
