Copper Reducer for Potable Water Systems

The Viega ProPress 2915.2 is a straight reducing connector made from copper with an EPDM O-ring. It joins 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch copper tube sizes using press-fit connections on both ends. The fitting is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 200 psi and a maximum operating temperature of 250 degrees Fahrenheit. It is supplied new and intended for potable water applications.

Press-Fit Installation Without Open Flame

This reducer requires a compatible press tool and jaws to create a permanent, leak-resistant seal. The press-fit method eliminates the need for soldering, flux or open flame on the job site. Both ends accept standard copper tubing, allowing a direct transition between the two diameters. The 2 1/16 inch overall length keeps the joint compact within the pipe run.

Sustained Pressure and Temperature Performance

Under continuous operation the copper body and EPDM seal maintain integrity up to the rated 200 psi and 250 degrees Fahrenheit. The press connection resists vibration and thermal cycling without loosening. The fitting contains no moving parts or bolt holes that could fatigue over time. It is not designed for applications that exceed these pressure or temperature limits.
