This electric trailer brake kit fits a 6000 lbs axle and includes two complete brake assemblies. Each assembly uses a 12 x 2 inch drum with a five-bolt flange on a 3.9 in PCD and a six-bolt drum on a 5.5 in PCD. The kit suits trailers with a compatible hub pattern and a 12 V electrical system.

Replaces Worn Drum Brake Components

The kit replaces worn shoes drums and electromagnets on trailers rated up to 6000 lbs. The jump is worth it when existing shoes measure below the 4.7 mm lining thickness or when the electromagnet draws outside the 2.8 to 4.2 A range at 12 V. New gray cast iron drums and fresh friction material rated at 0.48 coefficient restore stopping power for another 30000 km of service.

12 V Electric Drum Brake Limits

The system relies on a 12 V DC supply delivering 2.8 to 4.2 A per magnet to generate 600 N of magnetic force. Voltage drop over long trailer wiring can reduce current below the effective threshold. The five-bolt 3.9 in flange and six-bolt 5.5 in drum pattern must match the axle hub exactly; no adapter plates are included.
