This portable I-screen measures 7 by 4 feet and uses a 1.25-inch diameter steel frame with a 1.2 mm wall thickness. The 45-ply PE netting has a 1.75-inch mesh to stop baseballs and softballs. A 600D carry bag and ground stakes are included for transport and stability.

Behaviour under repeated ball impact

The double-sided 45-ply high-density netting is built to absorb repeated hits during batting practice without tearing. The 1.25-inch steel tube frame resists bending and wobble when balls strike the net at close range. Ground stakes anchor the 7.9 kg structure so it stays in place through long sessions.

Limits of the portable frame-and-net design

The screen covers a 1220 × 2130 mm footprint and stands 910 mm deep, so it fits standard batting cages but not smaller indoor spaces. Assembly relies on a simple pipe-and-sleeve system that can be taken down in minutes, yet the fixed 1.75-inch mesh cannot stop golf balls or other small projectiles. The 600D bag protects the net and poles during storage but adds no weatherproofing for outdoor leaving.
