Sustained Clamping Behaviour

The ductile iron frame resists deformation when the jaws are tightened to the full 5.9-inch opening. A 3.5-inch throat depth allows deeper workpieces to be held without the frame flexing under load. The U-shaped steel guide rod keeps jaw alignment consistent during repeated heavy clamping cycles. Pipe jaws accommodate diameters from 1.5 to 7.4 centimetres for round stock.

Installation and Common Issues

The 360-degree swivel base locks securely once the desired angle is set, but the locking handle must be fully tightened to prevent rotation under torque. At 25 pounds the vise is manageable for one person to position on a bench, yet heavy enough to stay stable during hammering on the 2.9 by 3-inch anvil. Mounting bolts are not included, so the installer must supply hardware suited to the bench thickness.
