19W DC-DC converter with PoE injection

The Tycon Power TP-DCDC-1224 converts a 9-36VDC source into a regulated 24VDC output rated at 19W. It integrates a Power over Ethernet injector that places 48VDC on pins 45 and 78 of a shielded RJ45 jack. The unit accepts data on one RJ45 port and delivers both data and power on the output jack. Two isolated input terminals allow connection of a primary and a backup supply.

19W output ceiling and dual-input headroom

The converter supplies up to 19W of continuous power, enough for most 802.3 af class devices such as wireless access points or IP cameras. When the load approaches that ceiling the built-in overload protection engages to prevent damage. Dual isolated inputs give redundancy; if one source fails the other maintains operation without interruption. Surge and short-circuit protection further guard the connected equipment.

Shielded RJ45 pass-through for inline deployment

The device sits inline between a network switch and a powered device, requiring only the two DC sources and Ethernet cables. No software configuration is needed; power is applied automatically on the spare pairs. A metal enclosure option exists for industrial environments where vibration or temperature extremes are a concern. Builders who need IEEE 802.3 at handshake or higher than 19W should select a different model.
