The TRITAN UCPK205-16 is a new cast iron pillow block bearing designed for power transmission equipment. It features a radial ball insert made from alloy steel with a 1 in cylindrical bore and set screw locking. Double sealed closures retain grease lubricant across a temperature range of -40 Degrees F to 250 Degrees F. The blue housing mounts via bolt-through holes with a 4 1/8 in center-to-center pattern.

Fixed Expansion and Temperature Limits

This bearing uses a fixed expansion type, meaning it does not accommodate axial shaft movement or thermal growth along the shaft axis. The alloy steel insert and cast iron housing operate reliably between -40 Degrees F and 250 Degrees F, but the grease lubricant and double seals define the practical thermal boundaries. Exceeding 250 Degrees F risks lubricant breakdown and seal degradation. Shaft alignment must be precise because the fixed housing cannot compensate for misalignment.

Upgrade from Unsealed or Lower-Temperature Units

This unit replaces open or single-sealed bearings where contamination ingress or lubricant loss causes premature failure. The jump is worth it when equipment runs in dusty, wet, or washdown environments and operates within the -40 Degrees F to 250 Degrees F window. It is not for applications requiring floating expansion to handle shaft thermal growth or for shafts larger than the 1 in bore diameter.
