4U Rack-Mount Fiber Enclosure

This 4U enclosure houses up to 28 high-density fiber cassettes in a standard server rack. Heavy-duty steel construction protects the chassis and integrated wire manager while blank plastic plates cover unused slots. A fold-down front door shields connections and can be removed for full access. An optional rear-mount cable management bracket helps route cables neatly behind the panel.

Suited for High-Density Patch Fields

Network engineers consolidating 10 Gb, 40 Gb and 100/120 Gb links into a single 4U space will find the cassette capacity a good fit. The enclosure accepts only N482-Series cassettes, so buyers using different cassette families or proprietary modules should look elsewhere. Installations that require built-in cable routing without purchasing the separate bracket may also prefer an alternative design.

Capacity and Headroom

With 28 cassettes installed the unit patches as many as 336 duplex LC ports, delivering 672 individual fiber connections in 4U of rack space. This density comfortably handles large aggregation layers and core-switch interconnects. Once all 28 cassette slots are populated the enclosure reaches its physical limit; any further expansion demands additional rack units or a higher-capacity chassis.
