Eight-Port Rack-Mount KVM Switch
The TRENDnet TK-803R lets an administrator control up to eight computers or servers from a single keyboard, monitor and mouse. It fits a standard 19-inch 1U rack and accepts both USB and PS/2 peripherals on the console side. The unit ships with an external 9 V DC power adapter and supports Windows, Linux, Unix and Mac OS.
Replaces Eight Separate Consoles
Instead of dedicating a keyboard, display and pointing device to each machine, this switch consolidates control into one set. The jump is worth it when rack space is limited and operators need to move between servers in seconds. Switching is done by front-panel push buttons or programmable hot-keys with an AutoScan interval of 10 to 100 seconds.
VGA Resolution And Cable Limits
Video output tops out at 2048 x 1536 over VGA HDB 15-pin connections. Compatible cables are sold separately in 6, 10 and 15 foot lengths, so the maximum distance between the switch and any connected computer is 15 feet. The console port provides one VGA, one USB Type A and one PS/2 connector for keyboard and mouse.
