Recessed Switches for Tight Frames

These recessed white alarm switches install in narrow window frames where drilling for a surface magnet is impractical. The pack supplies ten normally-closed reed contacts with matching magnets for standard security loops. Each contact measures 11 mm by 19 mm by 11 mm and the magnet is 3/8 by 1/8 by 3/8 inches. Installers working with tight clearances can fit both pieces without enlarging the frame.

Low-Power Wiring and Gap Tolerance

The contacts ship with 22 AWG leads cut to 18 inches, keeping voltage drop negligible on typical alarm circuits. A maximum operating gap of 5/8 inch is recommended so the magnetic field holds the reed closed until the sash moves. Because the circuit draws only the control-panel supervision current, thermal load and acoustic noise are effectively zero during normal monitoring.

Sustained Closure Reliability

Under continuous closed-window conditions the reed remains sealed indefinitely without drift or heating. The hermetically sealed glass capsule resists environmental contamination that could degrade contact resistance over months of duty. Mechanical fatigue is not a factor because the switch only actuates when the window opens, so the contact survives years of daily cycles without performance change.
