What This Lock Secures

The Targus DEFCON cable lock attaches to Noble Wedgelock slots found on many laptops and ultrabooks. A 6.5 ft galvanised steel cable loops around a fixed object while the resettable four-digit combination eliminates the need for a master key. The compact lock body and 360 degree rotating head suit slim devices in offices, classrooms, dormitories or hotel rooms.

Practical Limits of the Wedgelock Interface

Security only works when the host device already includes a Noble Wedgelock slot; the lock cannot be fitted to standard Kensington or other rectangular slots. The 6.5 ft cable length sets the maximum distance between the computer and the anchor point, and the galvanised steel construction resists cutting and rust but cannot prevent all forced-entry attempts.

Check Your Device Before Ordering

Confirm that your laptop or tablet has a built-in Noble Wedgelock slot — usually a narrow wedge-shaped opening — because this lock will not engage any other slot type. Ensure the anchor point you plan to use is within 6.5 ft of the device and sturdy enough for the supplied base plate with adhesive or screws. The combination can be recorded on the manufacturer's cloud portal for recovery if forgotten.
