The Sugatsune HP-120 is a locking hasp with a rotating eye staple made from bright 304 stainless steel. It suits doors, gates or cabinets where a padlock is used and a fixed staple would snag. The rotating action lets the staple lie flat when unlocked. It is supplied with fasteners and a strike plate for immediate fitting.

Build quality and daily use

Grade 304 stainless steel resists corrosion in damp or coastal conditions. The bright finish stays clean with a wipe and does not need painting. At 4 23/32 in long by 1 37/64 in wide by 1 5/32 in high it covers a standard frame without excessive bulk. The rotating eye reduces wear on the padlock shackle and prevents the staple catching on passing traffic.

Practical limits

The staple accepts a maximum shackle diameter of 5/16 in so the padlock must match that size. The hasp itself provides no cylinder or key; security depends entirely on the chosen padlock. Fasteners are included but the substrate must hold screws securely. The unit is a mechanical latch only and offers no electronic or alarm function.
