80 Gbps bandwidth and 240 W power delivery

The cable carries 80 Gbps of data, enough for uncompressed 8K 120 Hz or 4K 240 Hz video with DSC. It also supplies up to 240 W EPR under PD 3.1, so it can charge powerful laptops while driving a monitor. Headroom ends when the host or device caps the link at a lower speed or wattage; the cable itself does not limit the connection below its rated ceiling.

USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 compatibility limits

The cable is USB-IF certified for USB4 and works with Thunderbolt 4 hosts and peripherals. It uses DisplayPort 2.1 Alt Mode for video, supporting HDR10+ and HBR3. Performance drops if either endpoint implements an older USB or Thunderbolt revision, because the link negotiates to the lowest common denominator. The 1.5 ft passive design cannot be extended without adding an active repeater or dock.
