STARTECH
An 8-foot Cat6 patch cable with 24 AWG copper conductors, 100W PoE support and ETL verification for reliable gigabit connections
This eight-foot Cat6 UTP patch cable uses 24 AWG stranded copper conductors rated for 100 W Power over Ethernet. Molded RJ45 connectors on each end provide a secure fit for switches, routers and PoE-powered devices. The blue jacket aids quick identification in dense cable runs.
The cable is verified for multi-gigabit rates of 1, 2.5, 5 and 10 Gbps across its full 160 ft maximum channel length. ETL verification confirms consistent performance under continuous load rather than brief burst tests. Stranded 100 % copper construction resists fatigue from repeated flexing in rack environments.
At 250 MHz the standard supports 10 Gbps only up to the rated 160 ft channel; longer runs drop to lower speeds. Unshielded twisted pair offers no protection against external EMI in industrial settings. Buyers who need shielded cables or distances beyond the Cat6 channel limit should consider a different cable class.

| Features | StarTech's Cat6 UTP patch cables are constructed with 24 gauge copper wire to support a broad range of Ethernet applications, such as Power over Ethernet (PoE). Because we use a high quality UL Listed 24 gauge insulated copper wire, StarTech's cables easily sustain the nominal voltage (48v) capability required for Power over Ethernet applications, whereas the inferior quality offered by copper-coated aluminum cables may be subject to insufficient power delivery, heat buildup and potentially equipment damage. All of StarTech's Cat6 patch cables are wired to ANSI/TIA-568-B specificatio |

The 24 AWG stranded copper conductors are rated for 100W Power over Ethernet, so heat rise stays within normal limits for Cat6 patch cords under full load.
You need equipment with standard RJ45 ports — such as switches, routers, patch panels, or PoE injectors — that accept an 8 ft Cat6 patch cord.
Yes, the Cat6 250 MHz specification is backward compatible with 10/100 Mbps gear, so it will link at the highest speed both ends support.
