Practical Limits of RF APS-C Ultra-Wide Prime

The 12mm focal length is fixed, so framing changes require moving position or cropping in post. The f/1.4 maximum aperture is the widest available on this lens; stopping down increases depth of field but reduces light gathering. Autofocus uses a stepping motor optimised for quiet video operation. Optical construction uses 14 elements in 12 groups including three double-sided aspherical and two SLD elements to control distortion and aberration.

The lens mounts directly to any Canon RF-mount APS-C body without adapters. Electronic contacts transmit EXIF data and enable camera-controlled aperture.
