Rigid Plate Caster for Light Loads

This 3-inch rigid plate caster uses a polyurethane tread on a plastic core and carries a 250 lb load rating. It is built for carts, wheelbarrows and similar yard equipment that move on smooth surfaces. The non-marking wheel protects finished floors while the rigid mounting keeps travel straight. Low carbon steel construction provides basic durability for occasional outdoor use.

Capacity and Headroom

The 250 lb rating suits light garden carts, utility dollies and small wheelbarrows carrying soil, tools or bagged material. Loads approaching the limit will feel heavier on rough ground and the single wheel offers no swivel for tight turns. Heavier construction debris, stacked pavers or wet mulch quickly exceed the rated capacity and should use a higher-rated caster set.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

The polyurethane tread rolls quietly on concrete, pavers and indoor flooring without leaving marks. No brake or swivel lock is fitted so the caster runs freely once the cart is in motion. Rolling resistance stays low on hard surfaces but increases on soft turf or gravel where the narrow 1 1/4 inch wheel can sink. The steel frame and plastic core add negligible weight to the equipment.
