The Seeed Studio 24 GHz mmWave Human Static Presence Sensor Lite detects human presence, absence, motion direction, object speed and distance. It is designed for developers and integrators building automation systems such as lighting control, security monitoring or appliance triggers. Configurable underlying parameters let you tune detection range, sensitivity and timing for each scenario. The module communicates over UART and includes an Arduino library for rapid prototyping.

UART module for microcontroller integration

The sensor connects to a host controller via UART and draws power from a 4.5 V supply. It requires a compatible microcontroller or single-board computer running Arduino, ESPHome or Home Assistant firmware. No additional radio or wireless stack is needed on the module itself. This frees the host from implementing raw radar signal processing while still exposing adjustable parameters for custom detection logic.

Low-voltage radar with solid-state reliability

Operating at 4.5 V, the solid-state mmWave radar has no moving parts and produces no audible noise. Power draw remains modest during continuous presence monitoring. The FMCW principle provides stable readings immune to common environmental interference such as temperature shifts or airflow. Thermal output is negligible, allowing enclosure in sealed housings without active cooling.
