15 A Three-Stage Charger

The Samlex SEC-1215UL is a fully automatic 15 A battery charger designed for 12 V lead-acid cells including flooded, AGM and gel types. It operates from 120 V 60 Hz or 230 V 50 Hz mains and can charge up to three separate battery banks simultaneously without an external isolator. A DIP switch selects two-stage or three-stage algorithms for DC-UPS or standalone charging. Safety listing to UL 1564 and FCC Part 15(B) compliance are included.

Check Input Voltage And Battery Type

Verify that your AC supply matches the selectable 120 V 60 Hz or 230 V 50 Hz input before connecting the unit. Confirm the batteries are 12 V lead-acid chemistry; other chemistries are not supported by the charging profiles. Ensure the installation location accommodates the 8.5 x 8.5 x 3 in footprint and provides adequate ventilation for the commercial-grade chassis. The built-in voltmeter and ammeter display output status during operation.

DIP Switch And Multi-Bank Terminals

The user-selectable DIP switch changes the charge algorithm between two-stage for DC-UPS loads and three-stage for standalone batteries, altering how the charger manages voltage over time. Three independent output banks let you maintain separate battery sets without adding a separate isolator device. Overload, short-circuit and reverse-polarity protection are integrated into the Universal Protection Circuit, so the accessories required for safe multi-bank operation are already built in.
