The RSHTECH RSH-319 accepts a single 3.5-inch SATA I, II or III hard drive or SSD with a maximum capacity of 12 TB. A 12 V 2 A power adapter is included so the drive receives stable power during operation. The USB 3.0 connection delivers up to 6 Gbps transfer rates and supports UASP for reduced latency. The enclosure is aimed at users who want to turn an internal drive into portable external storage for a PC, Mac, Linux machine, smart TV or game console.

Verify that your 3.5-inch drive uses a standard SATA connector and fits the single-bay chassis before ordering. The host system must run Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10, Linux or Mac 9.0 or above to be recognised. To benefit from UASP acceleration the operating system and the USB controller must both support the protocol; otherwise the enclosure falls back to standard USB 3.0 bulk endpoints. No driver installation is required for basic operation.

After 10 minutes of inactivity the enclosure enters sleep mode automatically, lowering power draw when the drive is idle. Continuous data exchange — for example when the unit is attached to a router — prevents the sleep function from engaging.
