The Rode Wireless GO (GEN3) PURPLE is a compact wireless microphone system designed for content creators, videographers and journalists who need professional audio without cables. Its omnidirectional capsule captures sound across a 20 Hz - 20 kHz frequency range, while the 2.4 GHz digital transmission provides a reliable link up to 260 metres line of sight. The purple finish gives the kit a distinctive look for easy identification on set.

Transmission range and battery limits

The 2.4 GHz Series IV link reaches 260 metres in clear line of sight, but walls, crowds or RF congestion will reduce that practical distance. Each transmitter runs on an internal lithium-ion battery rated for up to 7 hours of continuous use, so multi-day shoots require scheduled charging or external power banks. The 128-bit encryption secures the audio stream, yet the fixed frequency band cannot be switched to avoid local interference.

On-board 32-bit float recording backup

The 32-bit float on-board recorder stores over 40 hours of audio directly on each transmitter, replacing the need for an external recorder as a safety net against clipping or signal loss. GainAssist technology manages levels automatically, removing the manual gain-riding step required with earlier wireless kits. Creators who already own a separate field recorder or who only record in controlled studio environments may not need this integrated redundancy.
