The Rockville RMM-XLR is a super-cardioid dynamic microphone built for vocalists and instrumentalists who need focused sound pickup on stage or in the studio. Its 600 Ohm impedance and integrated on/off switch give performers direct control without relying on a mixer. The all-metal body and steel mesh grill are made to withstand regular transport and live use. A 10-foot XLR cable, mic clip, and plastic carry case are included in the package.

XLR Interface and Cable Length

The microphone uses a standard XLR connector, so it requires an audio interface, mixer, or preamp with a matching input — it cannot plug directly into a computer USB port. The supplied 10-foot cable sets a practical limit on how far the performer can stand from the input device without an extension. Phantom power is not needed for this dynamic capsule, but the connected preamp must provide adequate gain for the -60 dB sensitivity rating. Very long cable runs beyond the included length may increase susceptibility to interference.

50 Hz to 15 kHz Frequency Response

The 50 Hz to 15 kHz range captures the fundamental tones and most harmonics of typical vocals and many acoustic instruments with natural detail. Frequencies below 50 Hz and above 15 kHz roll off, so sub-bass content and extended air or sparkle in cymbals and high overtones are not reproduced. The super-cardioid pattern provides strong off-axis rejection, but extremely loud off-axis sources can still bleed in at close range. Users needing extended high-frequency capture or ultra-low-end response will find the range limiting.
