Rockland Colloid Liquid Light is a gelatine-silver emulsion that lets photographers create archivally-permanent black-and-white prints on wood, glass, ceramics, fabric, metal, stone and many other materials. The 16 oz bottle covers roughly 1 1/2 square feet per ounce, giving ample volume for experimental or large-scale work. Application follows standard darkroom practice under amber or red safelight, using an enlarger or slide projector for exposure.

Darkroom and Surface Preparation

You need a functional darkroom with amber or red safelight, a conventional paper developer and a hardening fixer before starting. The chosen surface must be clean, stable and able to hold a brushed gelatine layer without warping or shedding fibres during processing. No toxic phenol fumes are released, but good ventilation remains advisable for any wet chemistry.
