Single-lane PCIe limits simultaneous call throughput

The x1 interface restricts total bandwidth to one lane, which caps the number of concurrent voice channels the host can service without contention. The card relies on the host CPU for all signal processing, so heavy transcoding loads will compete with other PCIe devices sharing the same root complex.

Four analogue ports handle modest trunk

Two FXO modules connect up to two incoming PSTN circuits while two FXS modules drive up to two analogue telephones or fax devices. The bundled DAHDI 2.2.0 configuration shows four active channels, so deployments needing more than two trunks or two extensions will require additional cards or a higher-density alternative.
