Industrial ATX Motherboard with ISA Slot

This new ATX motherboard targets industrial computer builders who need legacy ISA expansion alongside modern PCI connectivity. It uses the VIA 694X northbridge and VIA 686 southbridge to support Socket 370 Pentium III or Celeron processors up to 1.3 GHz. The board fits standard ATX cases for straightforward integration into existing chassis.

Replaces Older Slot 1 or ISA-Only Boards

The jump is worth it when an application still requires a physical ISA card but the original platform has failed or lacks sufficient PCI slots. Five 33 MHz PCI slots and one AGP 8X slot provide room for contemporary peripheral cards while the single ISA slot preserves compatibility with specialised industrial hardware. Front-side bus speeds of 66, 100 and 133 MHz match the processor grade installed.

Build Requirements and Freed Resources

Three 168-pin DIMM sockets accept SD-RAM at 100 or 133 MHz up to 512 MB total, so memory must be sourced separately. Onboard audio uses the Realtek AC'97 codec and storage connects via two UltraDMA channels plus a floppy connector. Rear I/O supplies two USB 1.0 ports, two COM ports, a parallel port and PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors. A 20-pin ATX power connector and dedicated CPU and system fan headers complete the power and cooling interface. No onboard Ethernet or VGA means separate network and graphics cards are required.
