The Ridgid 37840 is a four-piece alloy steel die set built for cutting 11 1/2 threads per inch NPT right-hand threads on 1 1/4 inch pipe. It fits Ridgid handheld manual and power threaders using compatible die heads such as the 0-R, 00-R, 11-R, 12-R, 30A and 31A models. Plumbers and pipefitters use it to create or repair threaded connections on aluminum and steel pipe.

Four Dies Cover Standard NPT Threading

The set includes four dies that together cut the full thread profile in a single pass on compatible equipment. It handles aluminum and steel pipe up to the rated 1 1/4 inch size with the standard 11 1/2 TPI pitch. The dies are not suited for larger diameters, left-hand threads or thread forms other than NPT, so separate tooling is required for those jobs.

Handheld Threader Compatibility Only

The dies mount directly into Ridgid handheld die heads, letting technicians thread pipe on site without a bench machine. They free up bench space and eliminate the need for a powered threader when only occasional joints are needed. The set does not fit stationary or industrial threaders, and it cannot be used with die heads outside the listed part numbers.
