Purpose & Compatibility

The Really Right Stuff Cinch-LR adapter secures binoculars or a monocular to a tripod for stable, extended viewing. It fits lens barrel diameters from 1.77 to 2.56 inches, covering a wide range of optics. The semi-permanent clamp stays on the binoculars when not in use, reducing the chance of misplacement in the field. Wildlife observers and photographers who switch between handheld and tripod use gain a quick, repeatable connection.

Sustained Use Behaviour

The glass-filled nylon polymer body resists fatigue during long observation sessions without adding bulk. At 2.6 ounces the adapter adds negligible mass to the setup, keeping the centre of gravity low on the tripod head. Its 1.5-inch dovetail and Manfrotto RC2-compatible base lock firmly to most ball heads, preventing creep when the rig is left pointed at a distant subject for hours. The 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 sockets provide alternative mounting if the dovetail is not used.

As a passive mechanical accessory the Cinch-LR generates no heat, draws no power and produces no audible noise. The polymer construction does not become excessively cold or hot to the touch in normal outdoor temperatures. There are no moving parts beyond the clamp lever, so operation remains silent during critical listening moments. No batteries or electronic components are present to fail or require charging.
