What this door stop does

The Progressive DS-100-4 is a hands-free magnetic door holder finished in satin brass. It keeps a door open automatically when you push it against the strong magnet and releases when you pull the door closed again. The unit mounts either horizontally or vertically to suit the door and frame layout. It is supplied new and includes all fasteners needed for installation.

What to check before ordering

This magnetic holder is not compatible with doors fitted with spring hinges or door closers because the closing force can overcome the magnet or prevent the door from latching to it. Verify that the mounting surface is solid enough for the supplied anchors; the pack contains one concrete anchor and three hollow-wall anchors for different substrates. Ensure the door can swing fully to the mounted position without striking adjacent walls or furniture.

The bundle provides the fasteners plus one concrete anchor and three hollow-wall anchors so you can install on masonry, drywall or plaster without buying separate fixings. Having the correct anchor for each wall type reduces the risk of the holder pulling out under daily use.
