Add-On CD Player for Golf Variant

The Pro Star USB CD Player adds a single-disc drive to 2019-2026 Volkswagen Golf Variant models that left the factory without one. It draws power and data from the vehicle's existing USB port, so no extra wiring or tools are needed. The unit can be mounted vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box or wherever the cable reaches. Installation follows the printed instructions supplied in the box.

USB Port Limits and Indexing Time

The device relies entirely on the car's USB port for both power and communication, so it works only where that port can supply enough current and data bandwidth. A mandatory two-minute indexing period is required after inserting a disc; interrupting this process forces a full restart of the setup routine with a different CD. Steering-wheel and factory-radio controls operate playback once indexing finishes.

Single-Disc Capacity and Playback Scope

The drive handles one standard audio CD at a time, giving access to the tracks stored on that disc through the vehicle's original infotainment system. It does not support multi-disc changers, internal storage or media formats beyond conventional CDs. Buyers who want to play large digital libraries, stream from a phone or use video discs will need a different solution.
