The Pro Star USB CD Player adds a single-disc drive to 2019 through 2026 Ford F-150 Limited models that left the factory without one. It draws power and data from the vehicle's USB port so no extra wiring is required. The unit plays standard audio CDs and also provides Bluetooth connectivity for phone calls and streaming audio. It is intended for drivers who still keep a library of physical discs and want them integrated with the original radio and steering-wheel controls.

USB-Powered Operation and Indexing Requirement

Because the device is powered entirely by the car's USB port, it cannot function when the port is unpowered or when the vehicle's electrical system limits current to that socket. Every new disc must complete an indexing cycle that takes about two minutes before the audio becomes available; interrupting this process forces a full restart with a different disc. The player does not support DVD video, MP3 data discs or any media format beyond standard Red Book audio CDs.

Plug-and-Play Mounting and Common Pitfalls

Installation consists of routing the supplied cable to a convenient USB port and securing the player vertically or horizontally on the centre console, in the glove box or wherever the cable reaches. No tools or dashboard disassembly are needed. The most frequent issue is skipping the mandatory two-minute indexing wait, which leaves the disc unreadable and requires beginning the setup sequence again from step one. Steering-wheel and factory-radio controls work immediately once indexing finishes.
