This Pro Star USB CD player adds disc playback to Journey models that lack a factory slot. It connects directly to the vehicle’s USB port and integrates with the existing CarPlay interface so audio is controlled through the stock radio or steering-wheel buttons.

Sustained playback and indexing behaviour

The unit reads standard audio CDs and streams the data over USB without an external power supply. During the first use each disc requires roughly two minutes to finish indexing; interrupting this process forces a complete restart with a different disc, so the drive should be left undisturbed until the initial scan finishes.

Plug-and-play mounting and common setup issues

Installation needs no tools or extra wiring — the cable simply plugs into the factory USB port and the player can be placed vertically or horizontally on the console, in the glove box or anywhere the lead reaches. The most frequent problem is skipping the mandatory indexing wait, which causes the head unit to reject the disc until the full procedure is repeated from step one.
