Double-Cylinder Deadlock for Commercial Doors

The Prime-Line 687DCP is a Segal Jimmy Proof deadlock built with a solid high-strength bronze alloy case and bolt. It uses a double-cylinder design requiring a key on both sides, suited for commercial entry doors where controlled access is needed from either face. A recessed cylinder collar and SE1 keyway add physical resistance to common attack methods.

Limits of the Double-Cylinder Standard

Because a key is mandatory to unlock from the interior, this lock does not allow free egress during an emergency unless the key is immediately accessible. Building and fire codes in many jurisdictions restrict or prohibit double-cylinder deadlocks on primary exits for this reason. The flat strike mounts on the door frame surface rather than a mortise pocket.
